A sandwich. It's like the girl next door of food.

3.) What is your Favorite SHSMUN memory?

Going to City Cafe the night before SHSMUN 2018 and all groaning in unison when we heard "What's New Pussycat" being played for what must have been the 10th time that weekend. We were all tired after working hard over the week, but we were so nervous and excited that the whole evening was incredibly fun.

4.) What is your 2019 anthem?

"breathin" by Ariana Grande

5.)What's your favorite quote?

“We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.”
Oscar Wilde

6)What are you most excited for this year as a SHSMUN 2019 officer?

I'm most excited to work with the staff on growing SHSMUN as a conference, and I can't wait to see how we continue to make it a unique opportunity for teens all over the Southeast. The SHSMUN experience is hard to describe, but I hope that our year of work will provide delegates with the chance to fall in love with Model UN, and along the way, make new friends, new memories, and a new passion for our global community.

2.) What kind of food would you be? Why?

Coffee, black.

3.) What is your Favorite SHSMUN memory?

At SHSMUN 2018, the night before the first day of the conference, 2018 staff was setting up the GA room. The mics were live and, as a result, there was chaos; everyone kept screaming a bunch into them. It was fairly amusing. Plus I got to say the opening monologue of the original Star Trek tv series into one of the mics.

2.) What kind of food would you be? Why?

Buzzfeed told me that I am pizza because "Oh my god. You're pizza. You're effortlessly cool. You have very few enemies. And some people have strong opinions about you. But that's OK. You're flawless."

3.) What is your Favorite SHSMUN memory?

Sleeping in the Security Council Crisis with Ethan Fell (GC Pres 2019), and being rudely awoken by Carter Smith's (Secco Pres 2018) gavel bang. The logic’s rock-solid, but I still disagree.

4.) What song is your 2019 anthem?

Does coffee count as food? Cause yeah I’d be that.

3.) What is your Favorite SHSMUN memory?

That’s a hard one, but it’s probably a tie between the USG Komal Patri and I falling asleep in the SecCo crisis (only to be awoken by Carter Smith’s aggressive gavel bangs) or being so sleep deprived that I poured an entire bottle of water on myself in committee without anyone noticing.

4.) What is your 2019 anthem?

September cause what else would I be listening to?

Chairs

Ridley Browder, Disarmament and International Security Committee Chair

disec@shsmun.org

1. ) Use three adjectives to describe yourself.

Dedicated, selfless, and caffeinated.

2.) What kind of food would you be? Why?

I would have to be fish and chips. It is a staple of the western diet and is amazingly delicous, especially when you find yourself lost in a small English town trying to find food, but everywhere is closed (this happened to me more than once). All jokes aside, the dish that is fish and chips reminds me of the wonderful memories I made while (or whilst) in the U.K. Besides, who doesn't love a bit of fried food?

3.) What is your Favorite SHSMUN memory?

Where do I start? From the early morning coffee runs to the late night cram sessions writing resolutions and arguing positions with my friends, I would have to choose something that happened to me in committee, or maybe, more than one committee. During SHSMUN 2018, I was the face of a meme. My friend from school had printed off a bunch of Model UN RidMemes to hand around in her committee and gave them to others to pass out in their respective committees. It got to a point where my friend, during one of the lunch periods, just started randomly passing out a bunch of memes in Panera. My face even made it to the front of the UNODC dias (which was not my committee). Everyone called me the meme guy, and several of the SHSMUN 2018 staff reached out to me with congratulations on a successful meme.

4.) What is your 2019 anthem?

"Quarter-Life Crisis" by Judah and the Lion

5.) What's your favorite quote?

"You want weapons? We're in a library. Books are the best weapon in the world. This room's the greatest arsenal we could have. Arm yourself!"- Doctor Who (Season 2, Episode 2)

6.) What are you most excited for this year as a SHSMUN 2019 officer?

The relationships I will make while on staff for sure. Already I feel like I am part of a huge happy family. Sometimes you truly don't understand the significance of something until you are a part of it, and this might just be one of those cases. Here we go, SHSMUN 2019, here we go staff, and here we go delegates. It's going to be a wild and amazing ride; I cannot wait to share it all with you.

3.) What is your favorite SHSMUN memory?

During SHSMUN 2018, I was in UNODC, and I helped write a resolution for the last topic that insisted that the moon was made of LEDs and that Trump had a secret on and off switch. In addition, Mexico won the space race but let America have the glory in order to keep peace. It was the funniest thing I've ever debated and it really helped me connect with the people in my committee.

4.) What is your 2019 anthem?

My 2019 anthem is definitely Telephone by Lady Gaga and Beyoncé. It's important to let loose and have fun every once in a while!

My favorite SHSMUN memory was last year at the 2018 SHSMUN. We had been going back and forth on a topic, and someone asked what "DNA" stood for. They then proposed to spend the next 15 minutes debating what the abbreviation stood for. A delegate stood to address the floor, and said, "Deoxyribonucleic acid." Immediately, everyone in the committee jumped up and started applauding. We were so loud, all of the surrounding committees wondered what was going on.

Any Billie Eilish or lana del rey song.
