The bright Model UN Introductory Committee has actively been seeking a solution to a WHO topic, “Preventing Future Global Disease Outbreak,” which calls for plan be created to prevent diseases from ravaging across borders. With MUNIC Chair Kristen Edgeworth guiding the delegates through the committee session, MUNIC was soon rolling through their hearing. After heated and lively debates, these first-time delegates passed a resolution sponsored by New Zealand and the United States. They proposed that the people, especially in vulnerable areas, be educated about diseases, that hospitals submit statistics about diseases, that countries impose strict quarantine, and that cultural and religious views be disregarded in order to treat diseases properly. We are so impressed with the great progress that MUNIC has made and look forward to the accomplishments they will make in the near future!
