The room holding the UNEP committee was lively and focused, full of students taking notes and preparing to question the proposed solutions. The delegates set out to break down the complex issues involving environmental authority, led by chair Gavin LaPlace. The committee moved quickly, going through topics with strong propositions and equally strong inquiries about how to implement the plans. Delegates from the United Kingdom, Malaysia, and others spoke up with sharp corrections and clarifications for each resolution. After the individual solutions were proposed, many of the countries banded together to create a larger scale resolution. After this, the committee marched its way into voting procedure to finish off the topics and finalize each country’s position.
