The diplomatic relationships, represented by the committee's agenda, "The Envoy and the State" was heavily debated by the delegates, especially regarding the distinction between the private and public lives of diplomatic staffs. The delegate of Japan's resolution stipulated that the public life of a diplomat should be treated as the life of every other. The private life should be considered hallowed. However, the delegate of Hungary questioned the difference between the two lives. Japan explained that a diplomat's public life is nothing different from that of a citizen of the residing country.
