The General Committee spent their first day of SHSMUN debating, amending, and creating new priority outlines. A super priority outline was created under the name GC-PO-8 with primary sponsors of Kazakhstan, Italy, and Uruguay. High priority topics range from tensions in the Baltic region to the feminization of poverty and economic revitalization of the Gaza Strip to food security in conflict areas. Topics like arms control in South Sudan and environmental migrants appear in middle priority. Low priority topics include electronic waste, agrofuels in food instability, and the international regulation of stem cells. As the day went on, the General Committee began receiving and debating resolutions from other committees. Whether these resolutions pass or fail determines if they will be debated in front of the General Assembly.
